Urban Grill – Restaurant Website Case Study
A grill restaurant website built around the visual impact of the food — designed to get customers interested before they've even read the menu.
About Urban Grill
Urban Grill is a grill restaurant built for customers who take their food seriously. Grills live and die by visual appeal — the smell, the char, the presentation. A website for this type of business has to translate that experience onto a screen.
Without a strong website, Urban Grill couldn't communicate what made them worth visiting. Customers who hadn't been before had no real way to understand the quality of the food or the experience before showing up.
What was missing
Grill restaurants depend heavily on the visual quality of their food to attract customers. Instagram helps, but it's not enough on its own — it doesn't rank in Google, it doesn't show the menu cleanly, and it doesn't give potential customers a professional-feeling place to land when they're making a decision.
No visual showcase
The food quality couldn't be communicated without a dedicated space designed around strong imagery and presentation.
Menu scattered across platforms
The menu lived across Instagram captions and WhatsApp messages — inconsistent and hard to browse for a new customer.
Not searchable on Google
Without a website, Urban Grill was invisible to customers searching for grill restaurants — a significant missed opportunity.
No easy contact path
Customers had to dig through social profiles to find a phone number or DM the business just to ask basic questions.
What we built
We designed the Urban Grill website to lead with the food. The visual design uses dark tones, high-contrast imagery, and generous spacing — a look that suits a grill house and makes the photography work harder.
The menu is laid out cleanly by category: starters, mains, grills, sides, and drinks. Each item is presented with enough description to build appetite, without overwhelming the page.
Contact and WhatsApp access are integrated throughout — customers can reach the restaurant immediately, whether they're on the homepage or halfway through the menu.
Visual-first design
The layout and colour choices are built around food photography — high contrast, dark background, bold imagery that communicates quality before a word is read.
Clear menu structure
Menu items organized by category with clear descriptions — easy to browse on mobile, simple to navigate on desktop.
Integrated contact & WhatsApp
Phone, WhatsApp, and location accessible from any page. Customers don't have to search for contact details — they're always visible.
Performance on mobile
Fast-loading design hosted on Vercel, optimized for the mobile browsing conditions most customers in Nairobi experience.
