About Metro Bites

Restaurant Food Industry Menu Display WhatsApp Ordering

Metro Bites is a food business serving a varied menu to a city crowd. The business had a strong product — quality food at competitive prices — but their online presence wasn't representing that clearly to new customers.

In a market where people decide where to eat based on a quick online search or a WhatsApp recommendation, a professional website isn't a luxury. It's the first thing a potential customer judges you on before they ever try your food.

What was holding them back

Metro Bites was relying on social media and word of mouth — both useful, but limited. Social profiles don't rank well in Google search, don't load fast on slow connections, and can't be easily shared as a "menu link" that looks professional.

The key gaps:

No menu online

Customers had to DM on Instagram or call to find out what was on offer — an unnecessary barrier that loses sales.

Not findable on Google

Social media profiles have limited Google visibility. Customers searching "restaurant near me" couldn't find Metro Bites.

Poor mobile experience

No dedicated mobile site meant customers got an inconsistent or poor experience depending on how they found the business.

No direct ordering path

No simple mechanism for customers to place orders or enquire about the menu quickly and directly.

What we built

We built the Metro Bites website to do one thing exceptionally well: show the food. The menu is the heart of the site — organized by category, with clear descriptions and easy navigation on any screen size.

Beyond the menu, the site gives customers an immediate way to reach the restaurant. A direct WhatsApp ordering button means anyone browsing the menu on their phone can place an order or ask a question in one tap — no app download, no signup required.

The design uses strong food photography, high contrast, and a layout that guides visitors naturally from "what can I eat?" to "how do I order?"

Menu as the hero

The menu is the first thing visitors see — organized by category, readable on mobile, and built to sell the food visually before a customer commits.

WhatsApp ordering button

One tap from menu to WhatsApp order. Customers can send their order directly without leaving the page or making a call.

Mobile-optimized layout

Designed for how food customers browse — on a phone, quickly, often while deciding where to eat right now.

Fast load speed

Hosted on Vercel with optimized assets — fast loading even on slower mobile connections, which is standard in Nairobi.

What improved after launch

With a live website, Metro Bites now has a professional, shareable presence that works across every channel — Instagram bio, WhatsApp broadcasts, and Google search.

  • Customers can browse the full menu online before visiting or ordering — no more "what do you sell?" messages
  • A direct WhatsApp link makes ordering immediate — customers go from browsing to ordering in seconds
  • A professional web presence that builds trust — especially for new customers who've been referred and want to verify the business
  • A URL that can be shared anywhere — Instagram bio, Google Business Profile, printed on packaging or receipts
